My name is Sarah Elise and I've got the mouth of a sailor and a love of letters.  My interest in typography and hand lettering has been with me since I was a kid; however, it blossomed into a full-fledged love affair while earning my Bachelor's degree in Architecture at UW-Milwaukee.  Combine that with my potty mouth, and Voila! Filthy Freehand was born!

My work includes hand painted signage, murals, gold leaf gilding, traditional silvering and mirror making, glass slumping, chalkboards, calligraphy, and more.

I live in Milwaukee with my kid and our dogs Biscuits and Waffles.  I love growing food in my garden and I’m a sucker for over-easy eggs.
