My name is Sarah Elise and I've got the mouth of a sailor and a love of letters.  My interest in typography and hand lettering has been with me since I was a kid; however, it blossomed into a full-fledged love affair while working on my Bachelor's degree in Architecture at UW-Milwaukee.  Combine that with my potty mouth, and Voila! Filthy Freehand was born!

My focus is on hand lettering and the art of sign painting. My work includes hand painted signage, murals, and chalkboards, but I have a particular fondness for gold leaf signs.

I live in Milwaukee with my son, and our dogs Biscuits and Waffles.  I am a sucker for good bourbon and over-easy eggs.
